Marcel Sarzen
Founder and CEO
Marcel comes from a Big-4 consulting background and has been President and CEO of AGL Technology since 2014. He led the AGL 1.0 (Vetrax®) Series A funding round which was closed with Hills Pet Nutrition, a subsidiary of Colgate. In 2018, the Vetrax technology platform was purchased by Hills Pet Nutrition. Marcel has served as US General Manager for ITLogica, where he founded and organically built a software development and analytics company that has delivered services to the animal health, nutrition, and production industry since 2002. Over the past 10 years, his technology capabilities have been focused on sensors, artificial intelligence, and cloud capabilities. Marcel has licensed university IP and holds numerous patents in the Animal Analytics space. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and MS in Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Jackson McReynolds, PhD
Vice President of Business Development and Strategy
Jack provides a solutions-driven approach to resolving complex issues in commercial food production and processing by developing innovation for applied uses in animal/meat sciences. In 2015, he founded Passport Food Safety Solutions, a full-service food safety business with expertise in antimicrobials, data analytics, protocol development, and patented multiple innovations. Arm & Hammer purchased Passport in 2018 to complement their core animal and food production strategy. Jack worked with Elanco Animal Health as a technical consultant from 2010-15. He also served as a research scientist with USDA-ARS (2005-2010) in College Station, Texas, where he published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and patented a process for developing immunomodulators for poultry. He holds a BS, MS, and PhD in Poultry Science at Texas A&M University
Richard Shuler
Founder and Advisor
Richard is a recognized leader in the animal health industry. He has a proven record for creating and building successful animal health companies. Rich was President and CEO of Ivy Animal Health, where he developed and executed the vision for the Benchmark Performance Program® – one of the beef industry’s earliest and largest analytics value programs. Rich is an Operating Director at Paine Schwartz Partners, Chairman of Axiota (PSP animal health portfolio company), and a Board Member at Sterilex. Mr. Shuler holds a BS in Animal Science from Iowa State University and an MS in Animal Science from the University of Nebraska.
Christopher McNevin
Legal Counsel, ESG, Strategy
Christopher provides counsel on legal issues, ESG, and strategy development. Prior to joining AGL, Chris practiced law for over 35 years at the firm of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, a firm consisting of approximately 800 attorneys in 22 offices worldwide. Chris led Pillsbury’s nationally ranked Environmental Law group, as well as its Environmental Litigation team. He has extensive experience counseling companies in sectors such as energy, natural resources, timber, manufacturing, and government contracting, and leading high-stakes litigation for these companies. His leadership is recognized by numerous top legal achievements and publications in these areas. Chris holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Miami.
Chris Rosati
Director, IT
Chris has over 34 years of IT professional experience in a wide variety of roles, industries and technologies with a strong analytical mindset to solve technical problems and adapt to changing business environments. Chris is an original AGL team member who was key to our delivery of the Vetrax Animal Behavior System. Over the past eight years, working in the IoT and cloud computing sectors, Chris has played a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and supporting various aspects of the IoT edge and cloud infrastructure for AGL’s technology platforms including firmware, software, database architecture, and reporting. Chris holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from Stetson University.
Courtney Bokenkroger
Director, Data Science
Courtney leads the AGL data science team for developing and validating animal behavior and operational surveillance algorithms in animal production facilities. At Arm & Hammer Animal and Food Production, Courtney lead statistical and data science support for developing and validating interventions for meat packers and processors and provides tailored analytics for customer-specific data initiatives and program optimization. Before Passport, Courtney worked for Elanco Animal Health, supporting their value-added knowledge solutions services, and for MRIGlobal, a contract research organization, supporting a wide variety of technical areas from transportation safety to toxicology and national defense. Courtney has a BS in Mathematics from Rockhurst University, an MS, and three years of doctoral studies in Statistics at Iowa State University.
Joseph Liou
Software Development Engineer
Joseph initially joined AGL in 2021 while he was completing his BS in Computer Science at University of Georgia. AGL was fortunate to have Joseph rejoin the AGL team after working as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) where he further developed his cloud skillset. Joseph is a key team member contributing with a broad cloud, IoT and AI model skillset.
